Chappe was born and raised in Vashisht into a farmer Family and after school entered in Tourism Field providing local Indian travel services. For the last 20 years, he has built diverse and rich skill as a guide, completed Basic and Advanced skiing courses and extensive trekking experience throughout the Indian Himalayas. Leading and organizing cultural tours in Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Rajasthan, Kerala, Rishikesh, Sikkim, and Gujarat, he has catered to local and international clients. He has been Practicing yoga for the many years, focusing on Pranayama and Hatha yoga asanas, completing a 200-hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Course in Rishikesh in 2017. Chappe cares deeply about his work, the people he works with, and sharing his culture and love of travel with others.

Ganesh Ganesh Thakur lives in Vashistha, Himachal Pradesh where he was born and raised. Taking his first ever yoga class from his father, Ganesh learned traditional Hatha Yoga his guru and the many master teachers of Vashistha and Rishikesh. He has been teaching yoga all over India conducting retreats, classes, and workshops to travelers from all over the world. Ganesh works with his father Chappe to take people trekking, camping, and exploring all of India at their company Open Lotus Retreats. He as been working with Gianna and the Siddhi School of Yoga since 2016 as a trekking and travel guide and leads mantra and pranayama for the groups.

Gianna has been visiting india since 2009 and working with Chappe and Ganesh since 2017. Over the past 16 years, Gianna has studied, explored, and ridden motorcycles all over India and finds her time here invaluable. She hopes that working with Open Lotus can make India more approachable for the new travel or and open the door for people to experience and support the local culture.

The following are three different itineraries that you can pick from. You are welcome to get a ground together yourself, run a retreat with your studio or yoga community, or travel alone (note if the itinerary states otherwise), and enjoy India at a time that works best for you.   • Wedged between the Western Ghats on the East and the Arabian Sea on the West, the narrow strip of land known as Kerala is a destination of a lifetime. The timeless beauty of the palm fringed beaches of Kovalam and Varkala, the majesty of the undulating hills, the serenity of the pristine backwaters and the enchanting wood forests and valleys will have you bowled over how such a small terrain can hold diverse geographical features and cultures is a wonder in itself. Gather you friends for a fun filled trip including Ayurvedic healing, yoga, beaches, and beauty on this spiritual tour through the south. 

    Day 01: Arrival in Cochin

    On arrival you will be met and greeted by our representative, who will escort you to the Hotel and assist you to check in at hotel, rest of the day will be at leisure to rest or visit on your own. You will stay overnight here in Cochin.

    Check in time into the Hotel After Noon. If your flight is arriving very early in the morning then we have to reserve the room 1 day in advance.

    Day 2: Walking tour of Fort Cochin

    Visiting Fort Cochin by walk included Churches, local markets, chinese fishing traditional in this area, fish market in the evening and Kathakali show which start around 4 PM. Rest in the hotel in Fort Cochin.

    Day 3 : Cochin - Munnar [140 Km - 3/4H of road]
    Drive to Munnar. Walk in the city, through the commercial centre of tea plantations seated amongst the highest tea grown in the world. Night at the hotel.

    Day 4: Visit  Munnar
    We will visit the tea garden and factory and the Village and Munnar Town. You can also walk in the Tea Garden after receiving a special permit from Munnar (sometimes easy, sometimes difficult to obtain). You will visit the tea and cardamom plantation. It is a favourite for naturalists with a vast variety of evergreen trees which the cardamom is cultivated. You can meet the women working on the slopes of the tea plantation doing their hard work. Night in Munnar.

    Day 5 : Munnar - Periyar [100 Km - 2/3 H of road]
    By vehicle, we get to the mountainous area of the western Ghats to the National park of Periyar. The program includes: a half day walk in the jungle and the close villages and the discovery of the national park by boat on the lake of Periyar. Night at the lodge.

    Day 6 :Periyar national park
    We will spend the day exploring the national park of Periyar and its surroundings with an English speaking naturalist guide. Night in a lodge.

    Day 7: Periyar–Alleppey/ Kumarakom Houseboat on the Backwaters 140Km - 4
    Early breakfast we will drive to Alleppey.  You take a traditional house boat and  sail on the canals, lagoons, and lakes. Local fish dinner and overnight on board (double room).

    Day 8-13 : Alleppey - Varkala [110 Km - 3 H] ( yoga and Ayurveda treatment available )
    Drive to toVarkala. On your arrival in Varkala you will meet Ayurveda doctoe for  Ayurveda treatment. If time permits, evening yoga class can be had at this location each day. Each morning you will take yoga classes by Your private yoga teacher. Ayurvedaic treatment as per doctors recommendations will be done here. 

    Free to visit the beach, you can take Private Surf lesson on additional cost. Night at the hotel.

    Day 14 :Varkala - Trivandrum airport [1H30 - 40Km]
    Departure from Varkalato Trivandrum airport according to the timetable of your return flight. End of our services.

    We are going to Explore Amritsar Golden Temple ( Sikh Temple ) In Dharmshala. Dalai lama House, Chandigarh, Rishikesh where you will do yoga and Ayurveda treatment, and Haridwar the most popular place for Hindu pilgrimages.

    Season ----Round the Year 

    Day 1, Arrival in Delhi.Transfer to hotel. Night in hotel.

    Day 2, Delhi to Amritsar. By train

    Early morning transfer to railway station to take the train to Amritsar. It will take  a 6-hour journey to reach Amritsar. Check into the hotel and drive to  WaghaBorder which is 30 KMS  from City. Wagha border is the Indo-Pakistan border where the retreat ceremony by Indian and Pakistan Soldiers takes place.

    Day 3—Visit Amritsar 

    Visit Amritsar the Sikh Golden Temple. A causeway connects to the temple in the middle of the pool. A Sikh high priest reads the holy book, sitting on the east side of the temple as visitará marvel and the beauty and community in the Sikh temple.

    Day 4, Amritsar to Dharamsala, 190 kms, 6 hours drive.

    Drive to Dharmshala. Check into the hotel. Evening stroll on the street of Mecleodganj. Night in the hotel.

    Day 5, Visit Dharamsala (1830 m).

    Visit Monastery, (Where Dalai lama lives). The Tibetan Government in exile has been based here for over three and a half decades. With traditional architectural designs  drawn from Tibet, the impressive Namgyal monastery is surrounded by a row of prayer wheels, and houses larger-than-life images of the Buddha. 

    Day 6, Dharmshala to Chandigarh, 4 Hrs drive

    We will take the road down to Chandigarh, a city planned by the famous Swiss architect Le Corbusier. Then visit the Rock Garden and Rose Garden, which is one of the largest in Asia, with about 1,600 varieties of roses. If time permits we will also visit the museum and art gallery. Night in hotel.

    Day 7, Chandigarh to Rishikesh (230 m), 5 hours.

    Departure to the sanctuary of saints and sadhus.

    Rishikesh is situated on the banks of the river Ganges, known from medieval times as a great  pilgrimage center, attracting large numbers of pilgrims, saints, yogis, and sages (sadhus). It is known for being the center of yoga and meditation. We will visit ashrams and temples and witness the evening ritual ceremony at Triveni Ghat, when hundreds of people float little flowers bowls with oil lamps on the river. Back to hotel for night stay.

    Day 8 to 10, Rishikesh.  3 Days 

    Each Morning you will take yoga class. You will meet Ayurveda Doctor who will advise for you the Daily Ayurveda Treatments / Massages (Duration depending on the Doctor's advice). Ayurveda Doctor Consultation / Medicines during the treatment as per the Doctor's advice / individualized Ayurveda diet plan (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) as per the Doctor's advice.

    Day 11, Rishikesh to Haridwar  

    Yoga in Morning, after breakfast checkout from Hotel Drive to Haridwar. Visit Ghat/ Temple and Evening Ganga Aarti. Night in the Hotel. 

    Haridwar is one of the most ancient and sacred cities in India, located in the state of Uttarakhand. It holds a significant place in Hindu religion and mythology due to its religious, historical, and cultural importance. Haridwar is considered one of the seven holiest places (Sapta Puri) in Hinduism. It is situated along the banks of the River Ganges (Ganga), and it is believed that taking a dip in the Ganges here cleanses one of all sins, leading to moksha (liberation from the cycle of birth and death). The name "Haridwar" comes from two words: "Hari," meaning God, and "Dwar," meaning gate. It literally means "The Gateway to God" and is often referred to as the gateway to the Char Dham pilgrimage (to Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri).

    Har Ki Pauri: One of the most revered ghats in Haridwar, known for the evening Ganga Aarti, where thousands of devotees gather to witness the spiritual ceremony of lamps being floated on the river.

    Day 12 , Drive  train to Delhi, 240 kms.

    Train to Delhi, half day visit the Qutub Minar. Enjoy a rickshaw ride between Jama Masjid and Red Fort. Evening transfer to airport flight onward.

    Detailed Day-to-Day Itinerary:

    Day 01: Arrival Delhi 

    Arrival in Delhi, met by your guide at the airport and transfers to spend the night at the hotel. 

    Day 02: Visit Delhi & Night Bus to Manali

    You have time after breakfast to relax or do some sightseeing around Delhi. There are many options such as visiting the Red Fort, the Jama Masjid Mosque, Old Delhi by bicycle rickshaw, walking in Lodhi Gardens, shopping at Sarojini Market and much more! In the early evening we will drop you to the overnight bus to Manali. We suggest an early dinner / late lunch since you will be transferred from the hotel to the Bus at approx 5:00pm. The bus provides bottled water and blankets and they stop for a late dinner (at approx. 9:30 - 10pm). There will also be additional rest stops on the way to Manali. The bus journey takes 12 - 14 hours.

    Note:-- Option to Fly to Kullu from Delhi additional charges if you do not wish to take the night Volvo Bus . Additional charges apply.

    Day 03: Arrive to Manali 

    Arrival in Manali at around 8:00am. From here you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel or family house, Breakfast or Brunch will be served in the Hotel, followed by Free time. 4 PM Yoga asana Class, Dinner , stay in Simple Hotel .

     Day 04: Yoga , Meditation and Short  Hike to Jogini waterfall and Vashisht Temple 

    7 am Yoga, Pranayama, and asana practice for 2 hours. Breakfast at 9:30am. After breakfast, you will take a guided walk to Jogini Falls. These are beautiful waterfalls about an hour along the wall of the valley from Vashisht. These falls descend from high above and run into the Beas River below. You can take Lunch out in Vashisht on your own. There are so many cafes and Restaurants in this area. Visit Vashisht temples and Hot water Natural Spring. Back to The hotel in the evening and take meditation and Pranayama class before Dinner. Night in the hotel.

    Day 05: Yoga , Meditation Village and Temple Visit 

    7am Yoga, Pranayama and asana practice for 2 hours. Breakfast at 9:30am. Visit the village of Goshal, Old Manali and the beautiful Hadimba Temple. Hadimba temple is about one km from Manali - it is very old and surrounded by the tall cedar pine trees on the edge of Dhungri village. According to legends, Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers fell in love with an aboriginal woman named Hadimba, the sister of the local chief by the name of Hadimba and married her. In your own time you can take a rickshaw back to Hotel. Dinner there. In the evening we will have a meditation class after Dinner.

    Day 6: Yoga Asana Practice  and Drive to Bijli Mahadev Temple ( Shiva Temple ) 60 Kms drive  2 Hrs trek both side 

    7am Yoga, Pranayama and Asana practice.  After breakfast Drive to Bijli Mahadev. From the road, head to temple. It will Take 1 Hrs walkIng, meditate near the temple, and head back to road, drive to Manali, Night stay in Hotel   

    Day 07, Yoga , Meditation and visit Nagar castle/ Krishna temple   .

    7am Yoga, Pranayama and asana practice for 2 hours. Breakfast at 9:30am. After breakfast you will Drive to Nagar Visit Nagar castle and Roerich art gallery and karishna temple. On the way Visit a Temple and Villages. In Krishna temple you can sit for Meditation, it is a very quit place. You can take lunch on your own. Drive back to Manali, Dinner and Night in the Hotel. 

    Day 8: Yoga and Visit Lahoul valley , Visit Kardang Monastery / Sissu Water fall

    7am Yoga, Pranayama and asana practice for 2 hours. Breakfast at 9:30am. After breakfast you will drive to Lahaul Valley through Atal tunnel which is 9 Kms Tunnel and Highest Tunnel in India. We will take you to Kardang Monastery, meditation here, anddrive back to Sissu waterfall. Drive back to Manali to stay in the Hotel. 

    Day 9: Yoga and Free Visit . Tour end 

    7am Yoga, Pranayama and asana practice for 2 hours. Breakfast 9:30am. Free time - after breakfast you will have free time to relax, enjoy the hot springs, schedule a massage or do a little exploring on your own. Night Bus to Delhi.
